Previous thread about Thomas (so research is not duplicated)

This is a long shot, but there arre marriages for a George WILSON (to Agnes WILKINSON, 9 Dec 1839, father Anthony) and a Sarah WILSON (to Isaac PARRINGTON, 23 Jan 1844, father Anthony). Both these marriages have notices in the Westmorland Gazette and Carlaisle Journal which say "Wilson of Skelsmergh" as did the marriage notice for Eleanor in 1833.

So possibly look for a father Anthony? Just a possibility.  :-\

On familysearch there is a family of Anthony and Elizabeth WILSON who baptise the following children at Cumbria (assuming it is all the same family):

27 Oct 1793  Brian, Kendal
14 Feb 1796  Agnes, Kendal
28 Oct 1800  Betty, Kendal
28 Oct 1800  Jane, Kendal
28 Feb 1802  Margaret, Kendal
23 Sep 1804  Mary (born 12 Aug 1804), Selside
14 Sep 1806  Elleanor (born 28 June 1806), Kendal
3 Aug 1808   George, Kendal
22 Nov 1812  William (born 27 Jan 1811), Kendal
4 Feb 1814  Sarah, Burneside
21 July 1816  Robert (born 22 Jun 1816), Burneside

Some kind soul may have access to the parish registers to check.  :)

This baptism for Eleanor fits with the census records for your Eleanor (53 in the 1861, 40 in the 1851 and 30 in the 1841)

These births would also fit with the newspaper notices found above.

Anthony WILSON married Elizabeth BRAITHWAITE on 11 Nov 1792. There is also an entry on the same date with bride's name Elizabeth STUARTSON. Not sure why there are two names.  :-\

A possibility: In the Westmorland Gazette, Saturday,  Mar. 7, 1857 :
"DEATHS ... On the 1st inst., at Side House, Skelsmergh, Mrs. Elizabeth Wilson, aged 86 years."

Modified to add:
Elizabeth WILSON death registered Mar qtr 1857 Kendal (10b/360) aged 86
Buried 4 March 1857 at Selside, aged 87.

Also a possible death for Anthony WILSON Jun qtr 1855 at Kendal (10b/364) aged 89
Buried 25 Jun 1855 at Selside, aged 89.

If this is the correct family, this looks like Anthony in 1841 at Side House, Kendal (all born Westmorland except children William and Anthony, who I assume are grandchildren):

Anthony Wilson         70
Elizabeth Wilson        65
Sarah Wilson             25
Robert Wilson          20
William Wilson           8
Anthony Wilson         5
Mary Wilson               4
John Braithwaite     80
H1070/1160/5 pg 5

In 1851 at Kendal:
Anthony Wilson      84      Long Sleddale, Westmorland (farmer of 9 acres)
Elizabeth Wilson    80       Long Sleddale
George Wilson   Grand Son   10    Strickland Roger
H0107/2441 / 342  pg 5

There is also, sadly, a report of the suicide of Robert WILSON, late of Skelsmergh, at Cheshire in the Westmorland Gazette, Saturday,  Sept. 24, 1859.

Just for interest, there is a "Wilson House" labelled on this 1858 map just under Skelsmergh Common.

Thank you so much I think that it is the right family as Thomas and Elleanor named their second son Anthony Wilson Crosthwaite and their second daughter Elizabeth Agnes.
My puzzle now relating to my previous post (if I’m allowed to do that?) is why the first son was called Thomas Elleray which I would have thought meant Thomas Crosthwaite born 1811 was the son of a Thomas not a John.
A huge thanks for this I’ve been struggling for days with it.
