Just for interest, there is a "Wilson House" labelled on this 1858 map just under Skelsmergh Common.

Actually, here is "Side House" - on the same map but to the left of Skelsmergh Common, near the "S" of "Strickland Roger".


Happy to keep looking for Thomas' parents. If I find anything will put it on the other thread so as not to confuse the two.  :)

I wonder about the marriage of Elizabeth BRAITHWAITE/STUARTSON. I recall on the other thread Thomas was with a STUART family - possibly some connection?  :-\

Yes looked at the census for Andrew Wilson and Elizabeth and Wilson house and side house is where they were and self-identifying where they were buried. Thanks for that have looked the map also.
