James T Sheahan C1889 Wexford Died 18/12/1959 Wexford
« on: Tuesday 31 March 20 18:03 BST (UK) »
Hello I am posting to see if any relatives of Mr James T Sheahan will reply.
I am related to his sister Annie Sheahan who married Walter Piper.

I am also seeking genealogy enquiries to this family. My initial enquiries show that there were several Sheahan families in or about Gurrawn, Enniscorthy , Wexford all being named similar.

Mr Laurie Piper

Have you checked the Surname Interests Board?  Link at bottom of this page under Tools

Have you checked to see if anybody has a tree on either Ancestry or Family Search?

Thank you for taking the time and trouble to search, the data is appreciated. Especially Sarah Connors as I could not trace that information.

You're welcome - glad to be of help
www.irishgenealogy.ie has civil records and is pretty user friendly if you want to search for the other children
Some I could see immediately but I didn't look too hard!

The baptism records are on a paid site
Unfortunately the free access https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0593 does not go past 1880

They do show that Mary SHEAHAN m William BATES on Nov 15 1924 in Tottenham, England
and Laurence SHEAHAN m Teresa MOYLAN on Jan 31 1914 in Marylebone, London
Kearney & Bourke/ Johns & Fox/ Mannion & Finan/ Donohoe & Curley

Thank you for the reply. These are siblings to my Great Grandmother. I sadly cannot locate her I have her DOB as 23/03/1880 but Rathkeale have a registration of 1881 and on the census she is even younger. Scratch head time.

With being house bound had time on my hands - stop scratching!
Here's some more information to work on

1 Aug 27 1870 Kate (shown as informant on Jamesí birth) LINK
married John McGRATH on Nov 21 1892 in Enniscorthy LINK
Son John born Nov 21 1895 in Waterford City LINK
1901 Census at house 28 in Thomas Street (Waterford Urban No. 5, Waterford) LINK
Son Michael born Sept 21 1908 LINK
I donít immediately see them in 1911
1911 census at house 1.2 in Manor Street (Waterford No. 3 Urban, Waterford)LINK

2 Jul 12 1882 Mary (although father is shown as George I believe this is correct) LINK
presumed deceased before 1884; birth of 2nd Mary

3 Oct 10 1884 Edward  LINK
Presumed deceased as 1911 census states that 7 children were alive of 9 born

4 Mar 30 1877 Annie LINK A little older than you thought!

5 Jan 3 1880 Daniel LINK

6 Nov 10 1882 John LINK

7 Apr 09 1884 Mary LINK

8 Apr 14 1887 Laurence Patrick LINK

9 Jul 13 1889 James Thomas (shown as John but baptism shows James) LINK

Just to say Rathkeale is in Co. Limerick rather than Co. Wexford
