Clark baptisms in Carlton-le-Moorland 1812-1814
« on: Wednesday 01 April 20 13:36 BST (UK) »
I wonder if there is any information to help me confirm the identity of the parents of Mary Clark, (baptized Nov 1812) and her younger brother Charles Clark (baptized April 1814).
My info from Freereg - parents Robert (labourer) and Elizabeth Clark. Is there any way to find where they came from?

It seems they only baptized these 2 children in Carlton-le-Moorland. None before or after.
My theory is Robert came from Shelton, Notts. Married Elizabeth Yates from Cuckney/Norton, Notts.
Married in 1812. They went to Carlton-le-Moorland to start their family (agricultural labourer). Then returned to his home of Shelton before the next child was baptized in Shelton, Robert.

Are the Lincolnshire baptisms from 1812-1814 on FindmyPast? are images available or am I dreaming? Does anyone know if the images are available online from the parishes etc for a fee?

Have you tried Lincstothepast (Lincolnshire record office)
https://www.lincstothepast.com/

I have not looked to check what they have for that parish
Census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk

Hi Larkspur, Thank you. I see that you have Taylor in your Paternal family line. There is a Sarah Taylor on the same page of the baptism record for Carlton le Moorland as my Charles Clark. Sarah, daughter of Francis and Hanah Taylor, cottager. Baptized Dec 28, 1813.
ON the marriage banns (1812) of Charles' parents, Robert Clark and Elizabeth Yates, one of the witnesses is Elizabeth Taylor. They married in Norton Notts, bride was from Cuckney, Notts. Robert was from Shelton.
probably just a coincidence, common names. I wonder if these families are connected somehow.

My 5 x great grandmother was Martha Taylor she was baptised in Fledborough Notts in 1728 and married in Laneham in 1749. Thank you for the interest. Very common name sadly! Do you have the nine baptisms for the Clark children in Shelton?

I am aware of the other 9 baptisms in Shelton to Rob and Liz (I am not a member of the NFHS, so can not really see them).
Someone here on Rootschat previously gave me the children's names and dates. Such a wonderful group here.
Thank you
