Could the marriage have been registered in both of his names, with the female having been previously married?

Hi When my mother died 13th june 2018 the registrar could not find records of Divorce  .why did he manage to get married again under Boloslaw Sienkiewicz x he took British citizenship on 10th feb 1967 when he lived in Gloucestershire  whether he took it out under his polish name I dont know , But he was known as john Allen from 1953 up until he left us in 1962
