Issues with the new Ancestry Messaging System?
« on: Saturday 04 April 20 18:04 BST (UK) »
/Whine/ First of all, why did they have to change it anyways?!  All my groups are now merged back together (yes, I downloaded the groups, but really, what good is that?) //Whine//

OK - so my issue is that today (4 April 2020), I received notification of a new message from Ancestry.  I click on the new message, the message centre opens, but the new message is not there!  Nor has the message appeared in my email (at least, not yet).  Now the 'new' marker is gone from the message, so Ancestry thinks I've read it...

Anyone else having problems?  I did fill out the feedback form and sent it off.

I searched for the person's name, but she's new and not a DNA match either, so can't find her.

Thanks

??? New messaging system?  I'm not seeing anything new?

Oh?! Is this to do with Ancestry DNA?
Not something I want anything to do with! ;D

No, nothing to do with DNA.  The system has been revamped.

What I liked about the old system is that I'd receive an e-mail telling me there was a new message AND the e-mail would include the content of the message.  Perhaps what has caused a low number of responses is people thinking all they need to do is his 'reply' in the e-mail, and don't realise they need to log-in to Ancestry and reply from there.

As luck would have it I did spot a new message had arrived last night, but I'm finding the response rate abysmal since the change.

There's a message in AncestryDNA - "It's almost here! Find out more about the new messaging experience at Ancestry." But when I click on the link I get sent off to a 'log-in' page. There's nothing to find in the Help menus either... Not good, not yet anyway...

I'm having issues with the new messaging system on Ancestry too!

I no longer get notifications sent to my Mailbox, but have to login to my account to see if I have any...

I've reported the issue to Ancestry, - who say it's down to them gradually transferring everyone to a new Server.

They're hoping that the issue will resolve soon.

Romilly.

My new message (from yesterday) is now accessible!  Hopefully that was just a minor glitch.

Cheers all...

It's frustrating when they don't!  I have one person that i would LOVE to hear from, but no response.  I always reply because I'm interested and want to learn more.

Just to add to my comment about getting into my message, the notification that I had a new message never did get sent to my email address!  So that is NOT going to be helpful in getting a response.

Cheers all

Hope it's okay to bump this one again but... I sent some messages in Ancestry in June and I could see the 'Delivered' message for ages. Forgot about them but just looked now and they show as 'Read' but there's no date when they were read, just a time. Is there a way of finding out?

Thanks
