find a 1722 Virginia passenger list of a Michael Cadet or Michael Cadet Young

son of Francois Cadet and Marie Martha LeGros (French Huguenots)

and a 1718 Boston list of a John Kennedy

descendant of Felix Kennedy 1

and possibly the ___ Great Grandfather
of my 2nd Great Grandfather William Lamar Kennedy
from Coffeyville Mississippi

and a 23 Sep 1752 list for the ship St. Andrew / St. Andrews

for a Jacob Forney Sr. (also seen listed as Farney or Farni or Farnee)

he settled in Lincolnton North Carolina and is the Father of Captain Peter Forney

I found a 3 Sept. 1739 list from the ship Friendship but not the 1752 list

Jacob Forney is my 7th Great Grandfather

Michael Cadet / Michael Cadet Young is my 6th or 7th Great Grandfather

and John Kennedy is possibly my ____ Great Grandfather

John is a descendant / part / has past family from the Scottish Clan Kennedy

so does my Grandmother (my Mom's Mother) her maiden name is Kennedy
and she is from Coffeyville Mississippi

thanks for any help

Pennsylvania German pioneers; a publication of the original lists of arrivals in the port of Philadelphia from 1727 to 1808 by Strassburger, Ralph Beaver, 1883- 959; Hinke, William John, 1871-1947 (Norristown PA: Pennsylvania German Society, 1934)

At the Statehouse in Philadelphia, Saturday,
23 September, 1752.
Present : Edward Shippen, Esquire.

The Foreigners whose Names are underwritten, Imported
in the Ship S* Andrew, Captain James Abercrombie, from Rotterdam and last from Plymouth in England, did this day take the Oaths to the Government in the usual Form. No 1 1 1.

Jacob ( ) Vorney, sick on board

----------
Search the page for "Vorney" to find him. Scroll back to see the name of the ship. Look at the full list of the passengers, especially a few names before and after Jacob. He might have been travelling with relatives.

that may be him!!

maybe he was sick and when he said farni or ferney or farnee or forney

maybe how he said it being sick and how it sounded made person who writes names

think that it was spelled vorney

so maybe jacob's accent plus his sickness might have contributed to this spelling

from how it sounded when he said it

and I do think he was sick on the st. andrew ship

Don't worry about the spelling. As you said it often depended on who was speaking and who was writing it down. German names were mangled in Pennsylvania. My Steinbach became Stinebaugh, Kern and Kerns were interchangeable, etc.

-----
I didn't find anything on the other two men.

A post by mcalpage2 on a message board says:
"Michael Cadet arrived in Virginia in 1722 as an indentured servant. His passage was paid by Clement Reade. Michael added the last name "Young" in Virginia. (Young is the rough equivalent of his French name "Cadet.")"

In case you don't have that information. The whole post was a good read, but the other messages were not. search for her name on the page.
