Samuel Hallgarth
« on: Monday 06 April 20 08:08 BST (UK) »
Hello Samuel Hallgarth was born around 1793 in the Birmingham area Sorry dont know his date of death .. Seeking more information on him.Unfortunately  Unable to find him on the 1841 or 1851 census. He married Sarah--sorry surname not known and they had at least 4 children. John 1808-1810, William died 1819, Elizabeth and Thomas 1814--1871.
Thomas was a builder and subsequent generations carried on this work.  Perhaps Samuel may have also been involved in that area ?

Appreciate any information--sorry its so sketchy . Many Thanks .

familysearch has a marriage for Samuel Halgarth to Sarah Pettit in Yardley 14 June 1801.

FreeReg also has the marriage on the same date but in Stratford upon Avon, surname spelled Halgurth

familysearch also has the baptism of Samuel Drawater Hallarth. There are again two entries both with the same date of 1 March 1778, both with parents William and Elizabeth. One is in Yardley and the other in Halesowen and Oldbury.

There is this marriage

William Hallgarth and Elizabeth Drawater 27 November 1770 Leverton, Lincolnshire.

A coincidence or what?

Hello Samuel Hallgarth was born around 1793 in the Birmingham area
He married Sarah--sorry surname not known and they had at least 4 children. John 1808-1810, William died 1819, Elizabeth and Thomas 1814--1871.

Why do you think he was born around 1793 in Birmingham area?

First child in about 1809, so Samuel around 16 at that birth??

Why does he have to be born in Birmingham area just because you believe all his children were born there?

Your absolutely right that he could have been born anywhere and I had noticed that Hallgarth was also very much a Lincolnshire name . But  As all the Hallgarths in my  tree latter hale from the  Birmingham area  it was a  starting point given that travel was not easy. Great to get new leads.
