Mina /Minnie Paterson where are you ?
« on: Friday 10 April 20 14:51 BST (UK) »

I have been searching for Mina/Minnie for more years than I care to remember.
According to 1891 census she was born c 1882 in Annan Dumfriesshire. Her father was James Paterson  born 1859 Portpatrick and mother Janet Campbell they married in 1879 with them on the census is Janet's father William Campbell.
Janet died 1904 Leswalt and James in 1941 from his death cert I found a son also James born c 1897 he married Catherine Kennedy in 1922 in Stranraer and died in 1962.
I would appreciate any help or advice to find Mina/Minnie she is the last Paterson I have to find from present day back to 1755 when they came over from Ireland to Wigtownshire.

Thanks

Have you viewed the original 1891 image

Can't find a 1901 entry for James & Janet - have you found it?

Yes I have original she was aged 9  and born in Annan Dumfriesshire

Gosh that's a turn up for the books born in England

I should have added I have the 1911 census and it's only James and his son James on in it.

Presumed you had already checked the 1901.  Could be a transcription error.  Have you downloaded/discounted the Marion Paterson birth in 1881 as Minnie/Mina can be a shortening of another name.  No birth on freebmd  www.freebmd.org.uk

Yes I have she was the daughter of Peter Paterson and Marion Morrison

I was hoping that she might have been a witness on her brother James's marriage cert . but

it was a Jessie Baird .

Where did James say he was born on the 1911 census?

Mina/Minnie, some variants here www.whatsinaname.net/php/search.php?action=search2&search_name=minnie

Mina was an early born daughter following parents' marriage. What were the grandmother's called with maiden name?

With Crumblie's details, looks like she died at the age of 62 in 1947 (Townhead area of Glasgow).
