Alice R Evans

Hello everyone

I trust you are all well and staying safe.

Being in lockdown i have found more time recently to continue my family history. Just casually reviewing the 1939 Register record (81 Hemdean Road, Reading) for my great grandfather George Evans (born 1870 Toddington) - i have just noticed a Alice R Evans registered (recorded in the same handwriting as G Evans) living at number 85. Born 20/11/08 and married.

Who is Alice, lists her as a shop keeper (which would be correct, my great grandfather had a shop) but  i don't know of her and cannot trace a birth record for her or could think who she was married to if Evans was her married name. I have checked Toddington and Reading records.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

There is a Reading marriage in 1893 of a George to an Alice Taylor

I cannot find a William Evans born to George and Alice

There is a Reading marriage in 1893 of a George to an Alice Taylor

I cannot find a William Evans born to George and Alice

Hi Colin, that Alice was his first wife, she died in 1916.He married Kate in 1918.

Hi I think from the 1911 in Reading, Alice Rose Wilsher was born India, and dies Dec qtr 1996 Poole, Dorset born 20th November 1907 as Alice Rose Evans.

In a darker ink further down the page, maybe a different  ‘enumerator’ .  I am not sure why you think that the entries being written by the same person is relevant to your search.
