There is a William Jones in Silverton, Colorado, in 1900 and 1910, but he was born April 1857 and is a tailor who owns his own shop. He arrived in 1891 and was naturalized by 1900. In 1910 he said he was born in Wales. The 1900 census said he was born in England.

1910 link
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MK4K-F9K

He and Elizabeth married in Silverton in 1895. The 1910 census said it was the second marriage for both. I think the marriage information in 1900 applied to Elizabeth only. It wasn't supposed to, but that's the way it looks to me.

US census information is not always accurate. You often have to read between the lines to figure out the actual state of affairs :)

link to the marriage:

1900 Census Silverton, Colorado
on Reese Street

William Jones, April 1857, England, arrived 1891, naturalized, a tailor. he owns the house
Elizabeth Jones, Dec 1856, England
Willie Jones, Jan 1887, England
Mary Jones, July 1892, Colorado
Fred Jones, June 1889, England

Their information said both were married 17 years. Elizabeth had 9 children of whom 4 were alive.

[Notes: Frederick was Elizabeth's son, probably William was also. But I don't think Mary Ann is Elizabeth's daughter. The numbers don't add up for her birth, Eliz's arrival, etc.

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MQMK-Z5H

----------
The daughter Mary Ann is linked at ancestry to Mary Ann (Jones) Osgood, who was born 2 July 1892, died 26 March 1921, and is buried in Hillside Cemetery, Silverton, Colorado

https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/97906214

She married Everett Horton Osgood 8 October 1915 in Durango, Colorado.

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KNQN-19W

The 3 trees at ancestry that include her have her with an unknown mother. The tree at familysearch has her as the daughter of Elizabeth Bamfield.

------------------
All of this only fits your William Williams Jones if 1) he quit mining and became a tailor and 2) he and Louisa had a daughter who wasn't mentioned in her obituary. So I don't know where that leaves us.

-------------------
Louisa's obituary said her father in law was on Powell Street, Aberystwyth, in September 1892. Can you find him there in 1891?

Can you find any definite siblings of the William Jones born in the March Quarter of 1860 in Aberystwyth, mother's maiden name Rees? It would help to find him between 1861 to 1881.

There were at least 2 Jones-Rees couples in Aberystwyth in 1860, because there is another Jones birth in June Qtr 1860 with mmn Rees.

Edited to strike out. It doesn't matter because there's no proof that was the man you are looking for. There were 24 or so William Jones born in Aberystwyth between 1855 and 1859, for example.

Richard E Jones. So it`s not the same man.  I wonder which daughter he married then.
Did she die here or in America. It`s baffling.

The funeral took place on Saturday last, at Salem. when the Rev J. Miles, Independent, was the officiating minister. The remains were accompanied from the town to the place of interment by a number of friends.

Richard E Jones married Ann, she died in Wales. Is it possible William W Jones went  to America with him after her death.
