I've been trying to find any of the Morkens after the death of Mary senior. Found a possible entry in 1881 at 65 Lambeth St, 66-75 Lambeth St was a sugar refinery, RG11/446 folio 29 pg 5 there's a
Gavier Morkin 61 sugar baker born Germany lodging. There's also a Charles Moskin 29 general labourer b. Whitechapel in the same lodging house who may be the Carl of the baptisms and Charles of the 1851 census.
I realise this isn't helping with the original query. I agree with you, Heywood, that Charles Kerr is invented. Mary Kerr, mother of Louisa and Charles, would appear to be the daughter of John George Kurr & Mary Jenkins.
The witnesses on the marriage for Mary Kurr and Gevert Morken were Joseph & Eleanor Phillips. Joseph William Philiips married Eleanor Jenkins earlier in 1841 at St Matthew, Bethnal Green.
