Charles G. Barker - born 1916
« on: Monday 13 April 20 11:39 BST (UK) »
Trying to find information regarding a Charles G. Barker born 1916 Yorkshire to a John R. Barker (born 1867 - Bradford, Yorkshire) and Rose H. Brabbs (born 1873 - Yorkshire). Have found birth record and he is on the 1939 Register along with a Leonard D. Lacey (born 1912 to Rose Brabbs) but have been unable to find any information after this.  Charles brother was Norman Samuel Barker born 1920.  Many thanks!

Many thanks for your replies.  Date of birth for Charles is 18th January 1916 and at that time he was a 'general labourer'.
I will check out the marriage in Middlesborough - that looks good.
Will keep you posted

As he was born in 1916, could he still be alive and the 1939 entry shows because he is over 100?

What does the 'G' stand for?

You may be able to move a bit further forward if you looked to see who reported the deaths of his parents, and also look to see if his brother married, if so who witnessed it.

Added: His brother may have married in 1946.

Good idea - his brother (Norman Samuel Barker) passed away in 2012 at the age of 92 so I've been thinking that Charles may have been quite a good age when he passed away.
