Dear All

I am trying to read the parents of John Dunn and am seeing George Dunn and Margaret Anderson but cant find a marriage record for that couple on Scotlands People. Does anyone see any different names?

1871 census - Is he the John Dunn b England 1808 or the John Dunn b Leslie 1808

I agree that the parents' names are George Dunn and Margaret Anderson.

It may be that the record of their marriage, if it ever existed, has not survived.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

that marriage is also on the Dun family lists website
