Thank you both so much.
During this period of staying indoors I decided to look at directs where I have come to a grinding halt.
This has been caused by lack of knowledge of the area in some cases  and lack of knowledge where to get the records.
I look at Ancestry, and the LDS site

You both helped me greatly to not go veering off course totally.

I think if one of the two Surrey marriages is likely it would be Ann Woodyer in West Clandon.
if it is the one they also had two children in West Clandon and since it is only 4 miles away I will take that is the "likely" one for now.  I will not make it anymore then likely as there is that 6 year spread that may be explained by the lack of Woking baptism records for that period

I cannot find any marriage for James in Woking on Ancestry nor the LDS site.

Thank you again.   I never thought when I started on the Worsfold surname how many families there were with that surname in a fairly small area.

Jim

Maps.

Very useful especially those of around the time period you are researching

Churches and habitation help, since there was a boom in church and chapels in the 1800’s you soon find what was there and if records are online

The topography of the maps and agriculture gives clues to the migration pathways used by transient works who moved from farm to farm.

Maps are your friend

Hannah and Ann are 'interchangeable' so the 1802 marriage could be your couple.

I note the census mentioned in the opening post, Ann is with her daughter Frances, at Bell Lane Broadwater Sussex.
Age noted as 98 I think more like 78 but not clear, born Petworth, Surrey.
However it is A…..y!

George Newman   38
Frances Newman   35
Caroline Newman   7
Ann Worsfold   98

I think this may be the one who married at Cranleigh, parents James & Jane
James WORSFOLD   Baptism   21 Apr 1771   Surrey   Cranleigh : St Nicolas : Transcript

Could this be the James who married Ann, with his brother below?
Parents John & Ann.

James WORSFOLD   Baptism   07 Oct 1773   Surrey   Ewhurst : St Peter and St Paul :

Edward Napper WORSFOLD   Baptism   01 Dec 1775 Surrey    Ewhurst : St Peter and St Paul :

I'm not convinced that any f the marriages before 1810 are correct, given to the first birth being 1813.

Colin
Clarke, Trickett, Orton, Lawless, Norton, Detheridge, Kirby, Goodfellow, Wagstaff, Lowe, etc.

I know his 5 children were all born in Woking Surrey from 1812 to 1818

Don't forget the baptism at Woking, is it 6 July 1820 (ancestry say 9th)
Elisia? :-\
Parents James + Ann Worsfold, father Shopkeeper.

James was a Miller on one of the other baptisms.
Could that girl be the Elicher Worsfold, 20, who married Richard Martin, a Smith, at Brighton, Sussex, in July 1841? Her father James Worsfold, Miller.

James Worsfold who passed away in Petworth Sussex 1826

Here is the burial. 31 Dec, a great date. Age 53. If(!) correct it means he was born in 1773.
Abode Petworth
