Capt Anthony Charles Pennington 1920 - 1944

I am researching Captain Pennington who was killed on 5 June 1944 in the Burma Campaign.  His body was not found so he is commemorated on the Rangoon Memorial.  I have the War Diaries which explain his death and some basic info on him from FindMyPast and Ancestry.  However I would like to find a photo of him, any information on his early life (born Kendal and his father owned the White Hart Hotel in Sedbergh) and any local newspaper reports on him.  He was Missing in June 1944 and presumed Killed In Action in February 1946.

Have you contacted the tree owners who have him in their trees on Ancestry?

Do you know of any siblings of his?

Thanks for the suggestion. Should have thought of that myself!  I have tried the one tree I could find in Ancestry as a result of your recollection.  It seems that he did not marry and no siblings I can find.

The marriage of Anthony's parents (Charles F Pennington/ Agnes M Taylor)  was registered in Kendal in Sep Q 1912. The birth of a William N Pennington (mmn Taylor) was registered in Kendal Sep Q 1913. Could just be a coincidence.
Two William N Penningtons married in 1938.

Thanks for the response.  It seems he had a brother William Norman Pennington 1913 - 1970.  There is a family tree on Ancestry which discloses this but nothing about siblings of either himself or his brother.  I have contacted the tree owner.

Probate of William Norman's will was granted in March, 1971. Grantee not named . Value of estate £31,030. Could possibly provide a clue to extended family.
