Will look up
« on: Thursday 16 April 20 22:37 BST (UK) »
Hi
I am looking for the Will of Patrick Cronin born 1884 in Dublin. He married Mary Lyons on 8 August 1918. He died 18 Feb 1927. Will this show his parents names?

If his parents were still alive and beneficiaries then yes.  Otherwise no.  More likely his widow and ?children were the beneficiaries

There's a Probate Calendar Entry dated 20th September 1927 listed for a Patrick J. Cronin with that date of death, manufacturer's agent address 33 Westfield Road Harold's Cross, Dublin.  . The ohly other name mentioned in the probate calendar entry is Anne Cronin widow the executor. Effects £190 5s 4d. You would have to order a copy from the National Archives to see the full Will.

No, widows name is definately Mary

double checked , widow recorded in the Probate Calendar is definitely Anne, there are several Patrick Cronin entries in 1927 and the widow for the one with date of death 18th February is shown as Anne.

Perhaps the widow Anne named on the probate record is his mother (rather than wife)
As per 1911 census at 21 Lindsay Road, this could be her death in 1935. Annie Cronin, widow of a Commercial Traveller, age changed from 61 to 84.

Death registration for Patrick Cronin died 18 Feb.1927 at 33 Westfield Road, commercial agent-

Matches probate entry-

Marriage (1918) of Patrick Joseph Cronin to Mary Josephine Lyons gives his occupation as Com[mercial] Traveller- same occupation as his father Michael-

Can't see a marriage for a Patrick Cronin to an Anne ? that fits occupation of commercial traveller.
