I'm looking for information on the Buckland family that appears on the 1911 census living at 19 Wellington Terrace, Montague Street, Edmonton, Middlesex.  The surname is transcribed as Butland on the census.
The family member are:

Louisa (she we think is a smith but could be a wilson) 37 bn Ealing
Rodney Buckland 19 bn Harrow
Henry Buckland 17 bn Tottenham
John Buckland 9 bn Harrow
Sidney Buckland 7 bn ?
Ada Buckland 5 bn Edmonton
Sarah Buckland 3 bn Edmonton

Does anyone recognise these people?

What sort of information are you looking for, do you mean going backwards or what happened to them later in life?

You can check birth registrations for the children which give mothers maiden name.

Can you be more specific as to exactly what kind of info you are looking for?

Are you looking for living descendants?  Have you checked the Surname Interests Board to see if anybody else is researching them?  The link is at the bottom of this page under Tools

If you are looking for marriages/deaths - then you can check on www.freebmd.org.uk

You may also find them on the 1939 register but would need to find marriages for the females first

Hi,
We've been OK bringing the family forwards, but having trouble taking the backwards in time.  In my original post I said that Louisa is either a Smith or Wilson, it should have been or Williams not Wilson.

I have looked but can't see a post referring to these people,  Any help or suggestions would be great.

In the house next door to them during the 1911 census is another family of Smiths, they also look like travellers and I'm wondering if the are relations of Louisa ?

Yes, I check on freebmd and on the GRO for mothers maiden name for children born before 1911, and only found the 2 registered with the mothers maiden name as Smith - Ada and Sarah...  None of the others appear to have been registered.  I can't find them on the 1901 or the 1891 census...  I'm hoping the family they are next door to on the 1911 census is also related to Louisa.

So 1911 is the most recent information you have on the family is that right?

All of the above were alive for the 1901 census, no sign of any of them before 1911?

Possible for Polly

Polly Smith Dec 1910 Edmonton no mothers maiden name listed

Maybe parents never married until 1915?  There is a Sep 1915 Barnet marriage with Louisa Smith
Henry Buckland.  If that was them it might help you get back further if fathers names are listed.

There aren't many Henry Buckland marriages to choose from.

The other children could also be registered as Smith as there are examples of the right names in the right years and the right places but with Smith it's difficult to be exact.
