Welcome, what else can you tell us?

Did they have any children?

When, where and whom?

Is this the man & family? https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XWK5-SYJ

Something isnt right. If they've been wed 40 years, he was 19 at marriage, and she was 10!

I don't know whether this is a clue or a red herring -- but the youngest son in 1911 was named Arthur b about 1893.

The only birth I can find is for an Arthur Pygott Williamson registered at Rotherham in 1893. Mother's maiden name Harris.

Also for the Frederick -- he's registered as Fred Pygott Williamson in 1890 - mother's maiden name Harris.

The couple may not have married and Mary was a Harris - who married a Williamson initially and is perhaps a widow.

More research needed though.

1911 Census shows George Henry Pygott age 54 and his wife Margaret age 58 living in Masbro', Rotherham. If this is your couple then there is a marriage of  George Henry Pygott and Margaret Brazier in the July quarter 1888 in Rotherham District. Source: FreeBMD. Vol-9c, Page-826

That is a different couple. See reply #1 for a link to the George and Mary.

A Mary Ann Harris is on the same page as a Thomas Williamson Q/E June 1873 Rotherham Reg Dist.

I wonder if that may have been 'Mary's' marriage to a Williamson?

Just seen Heywood's reply - so maybe not the above!

1891 census in Kimberworth has a 12 year old daughter Martha Ann RG12/3849 folio 45 pg 10 with George & the Williamsons. She was baptised 22 March 1883 born 22 Jan 1879 daughter of George, miner, and Louisa of Parkgate.
Marriage in Sheffield Cathedral 6 March 1871 for George Pigot 21 miner father John Pigot Drayman & Louisa Straw 18 father William Shaw engine tenter.
So a marriage 40 years earlier, just not to the wife from 1911.
