Thomas "Tommy" Dougan

Apart from my family history I also research a couple of football clubs and their players.

Can anyone help with the the date of death of Thomas "Tommy" Dougan. He was born November 22nd, 1915 in Lanarkshire.
Had a look on free BMD but to no avail. He played for Manchester United, Hearts of Midlothian and Croydon Rovers. So he may have died in the South East.

I haven't found his death but he was still alive on 8 April 1953.  A newspaper article mentions he was granted a licence for a new public house in Chapel Street, High Valleyfield.  It refers to him as Thomas Dougan, the Brechin City, and former Manchester United and Hearts footballer.

I've told he died in 1980.

He was in Scotland when he died.
