Don't worry hurworth. I don't think there's any reason to think that the kirk session images would disappear from the LDS Family History Centres just because they are being placed on ScotlandsPeople.

The parish records for example have long been on ScotlandsPeople and were still available at FHCs as well.

Also, FamilySearch gave feedback regarding the Scottish censuses disappearing, stating that it was due to a technical issue which they are trying to fix. They should be back online at some point.

Yes, the films should still be available to view, once the centres are allowed to open again.

With regard to the icons not showing, try a different browser - sometimes Family Search is a bit iffy depending on which one I use!

Exciting news!

The attached link to Chris Paton's blog has news! He says that the first tranche of Kirk Session Records are going to be released in early 2021. Well worth a read as it indicates how searching and payment for downloads will be done.

Thanks for the info, William. I'd given up on them being put up.

Great news, especially about how they intend to charge for them :)

Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

This is exciting news, looking forward to it.
I wonder when The Scotland’s People Centre will re open, I have really missed it.
It is rumoured that Edinburgh will go back down to level 2 next week but we may have to be down to level 0 before they invite the public in again ? Has anybody heard ?
