Can anybody find a marriage between Fanny Lucas & Henry Morgan?
« on: Friday 24 April 20 23:07 BST (UK) »
I have also posted this on the Monmouthshire Board

https://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php?topic=829552.new#new

I have all other info on this couple except a marriage.  Both were born in Monmouthshire but all 3 of their children were born in Liverpool between 1868-1874.  Henry died in Liverpool 1879

In 1861 Fanny was still in Usk Monmouthshire

Fanny is shown as Frances Lucas on the 1841 entry but on all later censuses and on her re-marriage in 1886 & 1906 death reg she is Fanny

She re-married 1886 to Hugh McClements and is shown as a widow on the marriage cert

I am beginning to think they never married

looks like she was Frances - Fanny as a nickname -  Henry / Fannys children ?

Baptism: 9 Jun 1867 St Peter, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Jane Morgan - [Child] of Henry Morgan & Frances
    Born: 23 Jun 1866
    Abode: Clare St
    Occupation: Labourer
........................................................
Baptism: 29 Nov 1868 St Peter, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Amy Morgan - [Child] of Henry Morgan & Fanny
    Born: 11 Nov 1868
    Abode: Clare St.
    Occupation: Labourer
...........................................................
Baptism: 23 Jul 1871 St Anne Richmond, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Henry Jones Morgan - [Child] of Henry Morgan & Fanny
    Abode: 64 Clare Street
    Occupation: Yardman
............................................
moved address
Baptism: 1 Feb 1874 St Anne Richmond, Liverpool, Lancashire, England
Fanny Morgan - [Child] of Henry Morgan & Fanny
Abode: 1 Providence Terrace, Wakefeild Street
    Occupation: Labourer
so 4 children not 3  :) 3 in Clare Street and 1 in Wakefield Street

ADDED - was Frances baptised 12th march 1837 in Usk ,Monmouth ??
did Henry die in Liverpool ?
Hugh and Fanny married in Our Lady & St Nicholas church ,Liverpool in 1886 - was Hugh a Mariner on the marriage cert - did he have a son Hugh in 1878 with his wife Jane - was Hugh a Widower ?
didn't realise McClement was such a popular name in Liverpool - I live in Liverpool and have never heard the surname - but it is widely recorded in St Peter church - City Centre

Hi

Yes - have all the above info - just need to find their marriage

Henry’s birth wasn't registered.  It’s a complicated story but briefly - Fanny b 1874 had an illegitimate son who was raised by her sister.  He married and fathered the lady who married my uncle. The son died in WW1 shortly before the birth of his daughter.

Fanny was in the IoM by 1901 and married & died there - no children.  I have all her details.

We only want to take the Morgan/ Lucas line back to Fanny & Henry in Monmouthshire.  I have Fanny’s parents and siblings but just need to confirm if Henry’s father was Charles - hence the need for the marriage cert
