Need help again
« on: Sunday 26 April 20 11:23 BST (UK) »
Gertrude Dark b 1882 Bristol, In 1909 she married Walter John Woodland b 1880.  Walter was in the Royal Navy and unfortunately was killed/drowned in 1917.  From the ww1 pension ledgers Walter left a widow Gertrude and 2 children Rose Glanville Woodland b 14 Apr 1910 and Claude Jack Woodland b 14 Jun 1917.  No problem finding the birth and death  records for Claude, but for Rose nothing apart from the pension entry.

She may of been born aboard

Any help would be appreciated

And still a male on the later census - Roy described as 'son'.

As both names are wrong Rose to Roy and Glanville to Greville I would think probably just difficult to read?

Have you seen the original writing or just a transcription of the name?

A bit of a doubting Thomas there - I  think both of us double check before giving info!

See  the link I gave for FS - it clearly states son with age in the correct column (and checked with imagel) . I would also think that Mckha489 has checked and double checked as he is very thorough.

Further - I have just checked the baptism entry that Mckha489 gave and it is clearly Roy. The Birth reg also shows Roy, so that's 3 confirmed sightings!

There is also a marriage for a Roy F Woodland and Olive D Brown Q2, 1937, Bristol
