Diary - Sunday 26th April

We went for a early morning walk near our church which of course is closed,although we had an on line service a little later. Cut down some roads we don’t usually use and found a little park where the bird song was wonderful. Finding it quite hard at times as we walk the grand dog twice a week usually,but as daughter and her partner are working from home ,we aren’t allowed to travel the 3 miles there.

No idea what I did most of the day, had my usual walk, a long phone call, the rest is a mystery! Apart from the fact that I had another eight legged intruder. Pleeeease don't anyone tell me any graphic stories of them, it makes me feel ill just reading it.

I celebrated my birthday and my sixth week staying at home.
Got a book bundle (local bookshop choose 3 books and deliver),a cosy zip up top, lots of scratch cards, jellys, chocolate and Tayto crisps.
Faced timed siblings. Spent yet another lovely day with my mother.

Staying at home in Australia:
We are also into our 6th week, 2 retirees at home, and in general people are doing the right thing and in general Australians  have observed social distance from the start. We are blessed with living in a seaside town with a small population. So Aus stats show we have virtually no more new cases and a national death toll about 80. Each state is locked down and we would have had a lower death rate if cruise ships and dumb rich people returning from Aspen had been quarantined much earlier.
The stats in the UK are horrendous and that number is only those who died in Hospital, not aged care or otherwise. We wish you the very best for the future but please stay safe, at home, even though the sun might be shining.

You said the days blur into one, every morning I have to put some thought into what day it is, the normal routine has gone and so every day is more or less like another, we all do routine things and it seems strange not to

My husband is recovering from pneumonia so I have had to add nurse to my job description for the last few weeks, hopefully to soon be redundant in that area as he is progressing slowly

We have never been jigsaw people but I must say over the last week or so we have been tackling one together, its a biggy 1500 and complicated, , might even become addicted

Very late to the party and I am now at the stage that I cannot remember what I made for Sunday dinner.  Mostly a housework kind of day.
