The Wilson sisters from Wigtownshire to America or Canada
« on: Monday 27 April 20 13:31 BST (UK) »

Elizabeth born 15 April 1913 and Janet born 12 August 1917 both in Leswalt  Wigtownshire -they are the daughters of John Wilson and Mary Gordon.

I know that when her sister married around 1931 Elizabeth was a witness but what happened to both of them I have no idea.

Family rumour has it they both married American or Canadian soldiers as there was an army camp a few miles away at Kirkcolm .

Unsure this will be yours - There is a Wilson family on a New York Passenger List - Mary 31 years - Nellie 13 years - Jeanie 12 years - Wilhelmina 10 years - Agnes 8 years - Mary 6 years - Janet 4 years - Robert 3 years and Davida 8 months. Last permanent address Stranraer.  Friend Mrs Jessie Myles Larbrax School, Leswalt, Stranraer.  Going to Chicago Illinois. Sister Mrs Jeanie Oliver, 503 North Well Street Chicago Illinois.
Some show naturalization details for 1941.

Hi Sandra,
No that's not them they had 12 children this couple and  10 of them all married and died in the area . These are the only two I have never been able to find .
There were soldiers from lots of different nations in the area during the war so they could have gone any where .
They were dad's cousins and they are the only two he wasn't sure of and he had many.
