Henry Holroyd b1830
« on: Wednesday 29 April 20 00:16 BST (UK) »
Hello
I am not familiar with Australian records etc. But am looking into my relative Henry Holroyd born 1830 in Huddersfield, Yorkshire in England.
He was convicted of stealing Thomas Stocks watch in 1850 and sentenced to 7yrs and sent to Van Diemans Land.Arriving in 1853.
I have a record off Ancestry showing he was pardoned in 1855.
It appears he didn't come back as I can't find any records of him.The last date on the pardon record is 31 March 1858.
Can anybody with more knowledge of this subject find a record of him in Australia.
Thanks Lee

And this

The first page: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSGR-83MP-Q?i=283&cc=3007557

I’m not sure about this, Carole.

Hopefully, the Lee will let us know if he had sisters Catherine - m. NESBITT - and Ellen m. WILD

He also has a snuff box and brass inlaid inkstand that once belonged to his father and a white jug once his mother’s. Wonder how he got them, if this is Henry the convict?

Henry Radcliffe,Lower Head Row,Shephards Yard rents a ----from this man.
Brother of Henry,William lived next door to Henry Radcliffe in 1861 no sign of Henry I thought that may have been his address on return to England.
Henrys family were parents John and Mary .
Brother William,Sisters Caroline ,Martha and May Ann.
Know all about the family left behind in England but would like to find what happened to Henry after his pardon
