Yes, that's good to see, a massive demonstration in practical terms of how highly people think of the NHS workers.
A strange sort of day for me. Woke myself up coughing at 6a.m, my chest really doesn't like the tree pollens that are about at this time of year but it's usually a few weeks earlier that it shows.
It was my friend's husband's funeral today, she had given me the details to watch the webcast but sadly the video didn't play. I spoke to her later today and she said no-one had been able to view it but it was available now, so I watched it tonight. I felt so useless not being able to be there for her, although I know she just accepted that that's how it had to be and I was with her in spirit.
It was cool and cloudy today, not that many people about so I was able to walk through the woods more and think about things. Not that I don't have plenty of thinking time anyway but the events of this particular day brought on my pensive mood.
After lunch I did some research (not family history) and wrote a rather long email. Then went to clean the bathroom. My mother always used to comment on how the place you go to get clean gets the dirtiest. I saw Alice Beer on This Morning today, talking about how to use bleach (after comments were made on the speech by a certain American!) She said you could put it in a spray but it's more difficult to put it directly where you want it. Last time she was on talking about the same subject she suggested putting it in a spray.
Apparently bleach has a use by date as it loses its efficacy. I never knew that.
Did a few other chores (it never ends) and spent a while on Rootschat. One of these days I'll get round to doing more family history but I do find these chat threads comforting at a time like this, I feel like I'm among friends when I can't physically be among friends.
My friend rang after I texted her and told me about the funeral and other things that are going on, I was glad to speak to her.
Was thinking about what to have for tea, remembered I had the other half of the chicken in pasta sauce to use up so I had that, it was easy and that suited me today.
Watched some TV, have started watching the Sewing Bee programme that I recorded, might leave it till another day, not really in the mood for it.
Hope everyone has had a good day, also hoping for some respite from the daily grind for River Tyne Lass.
