John Macklin
« on: Thursday 30 April 20 16:49 BST (UK) »
Any info on John please.  Died 1893 age 71 in Redmund Place Wexford.  Superintendent of Wexford Railway.  We found his grave in Glasnevin Cemetary in Dublin next to my Great Grandmother Margaret Macklin (nee Kinsella)who died in 1897 so assuming a relative.  We have info from Glasnevin that the grave belongs to his sister Catherine Doyle but unable to trace any Doyle-Macklin marriages. He died a bachelor.

Were the family born in Dublin or Meath?

Not sure where he was born - presume Dublin as he is buried there next to my Great grandmother whose husband James Macklin was born in Dublin.

Many thanks for the will link as hadnt found that.

Yes looks good as the will said John lived in Wellington Place. Many thanks - gives me a clue to her birth.

If John & James had the same father, Joseph. There is a death in 1872, Rathdown, age 72.

Joseph, father,  from the marriage in 1876 of James to Margaret Kinsella

OP, do you have the death of Catherine Doyle? This may be it in 1913. The informant is Margaret Walsh who was a boarder in Catherine's residence in 1911 (as found by Sinann).
