Whitta of St Agnes
« on: Saturday 02 May 20 09:14 BST (UK) »
Can anyone --- help with this lady please:

Elianor Whitta born  about 1677 possibly in St. Agnes...

All I have is that she married my Sampson Talluck (various spellings) in 1699 in St. Agnes.

She possibly died in 1755..

They had  -- Ann - Jane and Joseph   and maybe more..   Children.

Cannot find her parents or anything else - even the death is a possible.

Thanks

Xin

You can see the register entry on FamilySearch, it looks like Duence to me.

http://www.rootschat.com/links/01peq/

It doesn't look like the Elinor further down the page 24 Jan. The first letter does look like the D of Diana daughter of Barnaby bap 9 May.

If you search on the Cornwall opc database, there are over 100 baptisms for Duens/Duence/Duance + other variants. Duence Whitta married James Hocking 27 oct 1701 in St Agnes.

it looks like there are some years missing from the baptism register.

http://www.rootschat.com/links/01peu/

baptisms are fine up until Feb 1660, then there's ones from various years for children of William Paull, then likewise children of Richard Gowen, next 8 baptism in order before the register restarts in 1674 with the more normal 20+ baptisms a year.

It might be worth asking the opc if they have the BTs for the parish in case there are records for the intervening years.

I'll finish off on the other Tallacks.

George who died in 1726 mentions wife Willmott, son Thomas, son John married to Jane with sons Tristram & John, grand daughter Mary daughter of George, granddaughter second daughter of George not named (bother), sister Priscilla, money to the parish and George gets the rest. Will attached.

http://www.rootschat.com/links/01pey/

Mary, daughter of George & Elizabeth buried 17 June 1727. Daughter baptised 11 July 1727 also called Mary and she was buried 4 March 1727/8. Third Mary baptised 4 March 1728/9.

So could be the family of your Beatrice.
