On Lancs OPC the baptism shows;

Robert Lomas son of Catherine Lomas of Haydock Street
Born 20 Feb Baptised: 2 Mar 1890 St Elphin, Warrington, Lancashire
Page 167, Entry 1332

The only way of finding where the baby was actually born though is by obtaining the birth certificate. Clearly by the date of the baptism they were living in Haydock St - presumably Warrington.

Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

That one may not be the correct Robert and Catherine if registration only occurred in Q/E June 1890. That seems a bit late for the baptised child.

First three days in April still within six weeks of 20 Feb.
FreeBMD has only six births on page 190, Warrington, June 1890
Ten births on 191, and again 192, etc.
Likely then that page 191 is the first page for new sub-district, and that the Lomas birth was registered early in quarter.

we can’t find any of them in the 1891 census. Can anybody offer any advice please?

Catherine (Kate) is with her parents Robert and Rachel in Warrington in 1891. As Lomax.

That's a good find Jon -- if it was the correct baptism. Possibly Robert was not 'declared' by the family to the enumerator.

Hello grumyourmaud,

These are the following replies you have tried to make on the topic, they have come through to me because you clicked on the "report to moderator" button instead of the reply button, you will find this at the bottom of the topic on the right hand side ;)

Thank you for your reply looking at the census and the way it has been written down the should easily be taken as an xand yes as somebody else suggested robert might not have been declared at the time to the numerator. Maybe because Catherine was an unmar

I have Roberts birth certificate born 20th Feb 1890
