I have been having a tidy up and came across my great grandfather's school book which he took out to New Zealand when he emigrated. I am interested in the name of the school.  My knowledge of the Isle of Man is not great so hope someone can point me in the right direction. I am reading it as
....onchan School. It has November 3/54. Not sure what these numbers mean. He was born in about 1837. Looking forward to hearing from anyone. i am just starting to look at his family and seems to be loads of them. Hope attachment works okay.

The name of the school is Kirk Onchan school.
I.E. the school in Kirk Onchan, or Onchan. (sometimes Conchan!)

The Manx Museum Library (doubles up as IOM Archives) is closed due to lockdown, but there is a manuscript that might be worth a look?

The school is still active!

The numbers mean (I think!) November 3rd 1854.
