This is a copy of part of the birth or baptism of Gryphon Nicol b. to James Nicol

This picture came from SCOTLAND'S PEOPLE originally.

I cannot make out where the father came from or who signed the document.
Researching Smith from Shetland, Herd from Arboath, Whittier, Combs from England & Wales plus Albrecht (Albright), Carkner (Kirchner) & Syrnyk (Syrnick) from Prussia. Laurenson in South Africa

What parish/county? This will help with location.

I think it actually says 'Gryphin' not Gryphon. Is the name underneath another child in Sep 1739? And twins in Oct 1744 Mary & Helen?

It's Carmyllie.

The nearest I can find is Lochlair. It looks like Callows in Lochlair but can't find on maps. There is a Gallows Hill close by.
