It appears to be a pattern - Anc trees list a number of poss marriages pre his emigration but have not checked to see if his poss partners died

Charles Enoch Clarke first wife Sarah Jerrom.(1847) ADDED her father Daniel occ labourer
They had a daughter Sarah Eliza registered 1848 The Strand possible death 1848 age 0 registered St James Westminster.
Sarah Clarke age 28 death 1849 also at St James Westminster.

His second wife Sarah Hayward (1852) was a widow maiden name Nicholes (father Thomas)
looking for her possible death.

He was buried 17 March 1903 age 80 from the Union Work House

There is an extensive report of the marriage of Percy Hasting Clark to Emma Mary Sides in several papers including Essex Herald 24 April 1894

Included - His sisters Mrs Feron and Mrs FC Hale attended the wedding with his aunt and Sidney Feron of the Foreign Office.  The town was decorated in bunting and the church crammed.   The couple spent their honeymoon in Paris
