Patrick Faulkner and Wife Mary emigrate from Ireland to England pre 1878

Where do I begin! Patrick Faulkner and wife Mary emigrated to UK from Ireland prior to their first childs birth, that being Son Thomas born Reg District  Wigan Sep  qtr 1878. They went on to have at least two more children, Mary Ellen and James. In the 1891 Census Mary Ellen was 11 and James 9. Patrick and Mary's ages in the same census were recorded as both 33.... Thomas went Awol in the 1891 Census but was noted as a member of the Royal Warwick's Fusiliers at the Colchester Garrison in 1901. I am extremely keen on behalf of some good friends to discover any information regarding Patrick and Mary, especially their Marriage which I can only presume took place in Ireland. Do you have Mary's maiden name as no marriage jumps out for Patrick.

Have you looked up the childrens births on the GRO site to determine Mary's maiden name?  Use the freebmd reference and it shows Reynolds against Thomas's entry

You need to buy the 1875 marriage cert first to establish their respective fathers names

First get the marriage cert to get father's names and occupations, if that is the correct census you have at least counties for them.
Registration of births only started 1864 before that you need church records, so need religion, and where in a county they came from, townland or parish. The 1911 census might give more than just the county.
Mothers name would of course be very useful.
