Struggling to find Marriage ☹️

Hello Everyone

I’m struggling to find any info on my Great Grandparents marriage. Gladys May Gwilt 1909-1968 born in Newtown. Her husband was David Davies born around 1909 and that’s all I know of him. My Taid (Their son) said they split up but never divorced as David was strict Christian and went abroad at some point.

If anyone could help that would be fantastic!

Where is Gladys and with whom in 1939?

My Taid always said his dad was David Davies. I know after they split Gladys was with a man named David Jones as they are on the 1939 census

So your father possibly didn’t know the correct name of his father and referred to David who lived with Gladys after separation.

The marriage that jamjar has identified is shown on the North Wales BMD as taking place in  St Llwchaiarn, Llanmerewig.

Does that fit with what you know?

Your father’s birth cert would have his father’s name on it.
