Our man was a surgeon in Kettering, but I believe he was Scots. I need help with where & when he was trained if there are records. Baptism etc would hit the jackpot. He married Jean Ross, in St George in the East (Scotch church) Stepney in 1772.

This link for the London Hospital Gazette pg 220 , www.rootschat.com/links/01pgo/ has Charles Gibbon coming from Edinburgh and arriving at Kettering around 1768. This report also indicates that Charles was originally MacGibbon so worth searching for M*cGibbon too.
