John McNamara
« on: Friday 08 May 20 14:01 BST (UK) »
I am looking for Any information on John McNamara.  He was born in 1917 possibly in Lancashire. In 1957 he was living at 2, Carlton Grove,Blackpool.  That is all I know about him and am not sure if it's possible to find anything else. Any help would be gratefully received.

What is his full birthdate from the 1939 register?

Was he married?  Wife’s name?

Only one birth in 1917 in Lancs - mmn McNamara.

Where did you get his birthyear from?

Any connection to the 1957 marriage in Blackpool on freebmd?  He was John Derek McNamara

There are a great many of that name who could fit, on the 1939 Register - are you sure that you don't have any further information to help narrow it down? Name of wife, or child? Occupation?
If you can give us the link to why you are researching him it may help ... we're presuming you have some  familyconnection with him?

His birth year came from an adoption cert.  His daughter was born in 1957 and he denied responsibility.  The address was where he was living at the time. He was the manager of a shop and had known the mother for some years. I know no more about him.

Search of ER's for who else living at that address?  If not online will have to wait until after lockdown.

No John McNamara deaths in the Fylde area but he may only have been living in Blackpool for work purposes.    If he moved after 1957 then the chances of finding him are slim/none without more info.

If he denied paternity - is there a point in trying to find him unless the child b 1957 is hoping that if he had any children they will agree to a DNA test?

In 1957 he was around 40yrs old so may have been married.   Chempat's suggestion is a good one.  If he was married, his wife's name may show on the electoral register which may help.

You will need to visit Blackpool library when it re-opens as ER's for that period are not available online

Take a look on freebmd at the 1947 marriage in Blackpool just in case

Just in case there is a link to that marriage when you check the ER's - he died 1984 Blackpool and birthyear was 1922.  Probate entry has a different address to 1957

No match to birth on freebmd - possibly born Ireland??

I'd found several "possibles" on 1939, but none seemed likely to become shop staff. Sorry.
