Ok, thanks.  What I am really looking for is who was resident at the Pub in 1922.
My Dad was born there but his Dad was not the Landlord so I am guessing he was either working at the Pub or just lodging there but I can not find anyway of getting the info and the Census Records are still not available.

Hi
[ Surname ending E? ] I can see a family who fits the profile

Have you tried looking for your gg-father in the services (1939)?

He doesn't seem to be with his wife and teen children.

Hi Caribu,  thanks for the info, which I already have. The problem is that this Ottley is NOT the one on my Grandads marriage certificate!!!  that's where I have the problem as he only married a few months earlier!!!
