Burial Look Up if possible please circa 1971.
« on: Sunday 10 May 20 19:12 BST (UK) »
I am trying to find burial information for Joseph Bertie Thompson. The only information I have regarding this is that he passed away in the October quarter of 1971 in Leicestershire. He was born 13/08/1892 and was married to Elsie ( Elsie I believe passed away in 1984 although I vaguely remember being informed that 1984 was too early for a Look Up )

Many thanks in advance for any offers of help  :)

Are you assuming he was buried rather than cremated or do you know for sure he was buried?  Was his wife buried or cremated?

His wife's death was registered in the Market Harborough RD but his was registered in the Leicester RD

The Leicester RD covered a number of areas - where was he living at the time of his death?

You will need to contact the Records Office when they reopen.  Freebmd has his death but records for that period are not online

Hi CaroleW,

Thank you for your reply and the contents make perfect sense as usual.

It was just that I have not had subscription to A******y for some considerable time and I was able to take advantage of free access this weekend :). I was really revisiting a lot of old records that I was already familiar with but this and another one stuck out as obvious candidates for possible further investigation.

They both lived at Abbey Park Road in Leicester according to the 1939 register and that is the last reference I have hence my post. I thought perhaps a possible burial Look Up might produce an address especially as there is no evidence or record of a will on the GOV.UK find a will website.

When I have posted previously regarding a burial Look Up sometimes other contributors have been kind enough to supply information taken from cemetery cd`s and that is kind of what I was hoping for this time where the plot reference number and last known address are sometimes given.

Never even gave it a thought about cremation, plus why is his wife`s death registered in the Market Harborough RD whereas his was registered in the Leicester RD?
