Here is one I need all your help with.....Jane White died 30th of August 1856
Jane White's death is registered at the Consulate in Cadiz ,Spain 1st Sept 1856 …..but is she the right  Jane White ?
The Jane White nee Edwards I seek was married only a few months before on the 8th of March to Thomas White in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire.
I cannot find a death in England and Wales that confirms the correct Jane.
Spain is otherwise where Jane  would likely to be as Thomas had business interests there...…
BUT to now we think that to be in Seville...…..
My likely questions are...was there a British consulate in Seville in 1856 ?
Can anyone think of any sources I can use to find out if the Jane who is registered in Cadiz is the right Jane ?
I await your comments

Have you found Thomas in 1861?
Is he a widower?

Do you have the overseas death certificate from GRO - is there no further information there?

I see that your online tree gives the place of her death as 209, Calle Flamencos, Cadiz.

Yes Shaun , But that is the puzzle.   I am of the opinion this may be the right person...but it's a little like leading the evidence..."there is no other info so this must be true"...But it hardly ever is true in research.

If she is the correct Jane White  , then did she just arrive in Spain ?

A possibility is that she was convalescing at that address after a sea journey to Cadiz   on her way to Seville.

Your original question (about whether was a British consulate in Seville) wouldn't have any relevance to this Jane White who died in Cadiz, and whose death was registered with the consulate in Cadiz.

I couldn't see a UK newspaper death announcement. There was no national civil registration in Spain until 1875. Perhaps search for a burial or a municipal death record?

I am going off track here but I can see a published tree with what seems like conflicting information. It is in your name. Is the information on that tree just speculative?
