That is not relevant to the point I was making. I understand what transcribers are asked to do. I am also capable of judging when said transcribers are doing a poor job.

I have done transcribing, and when doing my own genealogy away from transcribing I find that reading wills and PR's, some of the writing is almost impossible to read. I have to occasionally zoom in to try and decipher it and ask other opinions.

I used to work for a scientist whose handwriting was beyond abysmal.  A couple of times during my association with him, he brought me something he'd written and asked if I could possibly tell him what he was saying.  We were working in a research centre and I would have to ask him which product/research he was working on at the time of writing, so we could figure it out between us.  So, yes, I understand completely what you transcribers are saying.
