Please can you help me with a date for this CdV by Allan Ramsden please?
I am guessing some time in the 1880's, but only because of the fact that I know he was based in Hexham at that time.
Any assistance will be gratefully received  :)

Dating only required please, no restoration needed  :)

I would suggest an 1880s date too.

Yes.   I gather it was named after the hanging rope that was used in the hangings at Newgate prison.

You are gathering together a nice collection Jen and they all seem to be in quite good condition....Is Allan Ramsden your adopted Great Granddad?  ;D WHEN i look at photos with men sporting Newgate Frill beards, they always look ready to fall off  ;D

The long bodice & loose fitting sleeves are a bit of a giveaway.
