St James Church, Bushey
« on: Wednesday 13 May 20 14:59 BST (UK) »
If anybody has access to monumental inscriptions for St James Church, Bushey I would be very grateful if there is  any information for a John Chapman who died October 1843

Many thanks

Hi

I don't know if anyone has contacted you yet about this - I have a copy of the Memorial inscriptions booklet of St James, by Hertfordshire Family History Society (volume 1).

The name is not recorded but there is a list of inscriptions that were noted in 1911 by a W B Gerrish, but not found by the Society in 2013when they undertook to record the inscriptions.

CHAPMAN Elizabeth  March 19th 1830 age77
CHAPMAN John husband of Elizabeth October 19 1843

There is no record of where they were etc.

Hope this helps.

Glad to have helped - would have replied sooner, but had mislaid my copy of the booklet!
