That's correct :) In 1964 he was said to be 21 years old.

Apologies for the late reply I missed the notification on this one. His age is 21 on that record.

Looking for Hing K Liu; Eastham, London
« Reply #11 on: Monday 07 June 21 11:27 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I am looking for information on my deceased grandfather and have posted a thread on here before;-

His name is Hing K Liu (may also be known as Hing Kven Liu or Hing Kuen Liu) and supposedly went by the nickname Ricky.

Unfortunately, we do not have the death certificate for Hing but his death was referenced on Doreen's coroners report and police report in 1977, where he was suggested to have died prior to 1977. "As far as it can be ascertained she was a divorced woman whose ex husband has since died".

Hing married Doreen Anderson in 1964 when he would have been 21. Hing's estimated birth year is therefore around 1943.

He has been linked to the residence of 299 Barking Road, Eastham and he was said to be a restaurant waiter at the time. His father was also a Hing Kuen Liu and a waiter.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards,

Terri

I really can't see that there is anything to be done;
Is the divorce record available? What was his address at that point in time (and WHEN was it even?)

(You have given a "he was linked to address" in east ham, yet didn't say when that was!)

Was Hing's mother a Dorothy May Liu nee Smith?

There is a Dorothy M Smith living in East Ham in the 1939 Register.  The name Li? is also included by her surname.

I think this is her birth going by one of the other family members.

SMITH, DOROTHY  MAY     WHITE

I cannot seem to find any marriage for Dorothy to a Liu. Did she marry Liu in the UK or elsewhere? Her death is equally hard to find.

Hello,

We do not have a divorce record. We're not even sure if the marriage ended by divorce or purely Hing's death. Nor have we been able to locate Hing's death certificate.

Hing was linked to the address of 299 Barking Road in 1964. It was on his marriage certificate for his marriage to Doreen.

Thanks,

Terri

Hello,

Unfortunately we do not know the name of Hing's mother. Only that his father's name was also a variant of H K Liu. This was found on his marriage certificate to Doreen.

Thanks,

Terri

Hi,

Hing was 21 on said marriage certificate. The witnesses were S N H Anderson (who I believe to be Sarah Nimmo Hood Anderson - Doreen's mother) and J P Biggs who is unknown to us. Although it was suggested that when Doreen moved from Glasgow to London she came with her friend Joan.

Kind regards,

Terri
