Ivy Thomas Parents

Hello all,

I'm trying to find the parents of my grandmother Ivy Thomas.

All the info i have is that Ivy was born 4 March 1927,
Ivy Thomas married Joseph Hopkins September 1946 in Caerleon.
Ivy died in Jan 2003.

Any help would be appreciated.

If you purchase the marriage cert, you will get her father’s name:

There are 2 Ivy THOMAS births showing for Wales, 1927 on FamilySearch. One with mmn as HOOPER,  Pontypridd and the other JONES, Pembroke.

Do you know of siblings for her?

Yeah I may just have to order the certificate. Just thought I would try my luck here first.
I don't know of any siblings unfortunately, the information I've mentioned is all I have.

I have looked at Ivy Thomas' born in March 1927 but without knowing their exact D.O.B's, I can't pinpoint which one is the right one.

have you looked for her on the 1939 register?

There's a tree on Ancestry that states her parents as Osborne Thomas and Phyllis Mary Jones - no other details on them.

The only Ivy Thomas I can find on the 1939 register living in Monmouthshire  is  Ivy Doreen Thomas living in 34 Raglan St Newport with her widowed mother Daisy Thomas and her brother Trevor (born 1924), an errand boy. Only fly in the ointment is Ivy's date of birth recorded as 2 May 1927.

Thank you for your replies.

So, I ordered her marriage certificate and it does state her father as Osborne Thomas as Annette said. Its states his profession as a tailor master and also deceased at the time of marriage but now I’m struggling to find concrete information on him.😫
