Family tree mainly photos?

I don't want to reinvent the wheel here so ....

I've been using Family Tree Maker for donkey's years but I don't think it will do what I want it to. I want to make a large family tree of my direct ancestors and drop their photos into boxes. (I keep my photos separate from my tree) Name and lifespan added. I don't want to use Ancestry.com or FamilySearch. I want something decorative in the end, not just a chart.

Any ideas?

Not sure I follow the issue.  Can't you just click on the person in FTM, then click on the face icon in the upper right corner, then click on Add New Picture?

It's something I would like to print and put in a frame ultimately. Something tangible, not just lurking on my laptop.

I thought there might be some sort of digital template that I could just drop my photos onto. Google didn't find anything suitable.
