Crikey, Trish, from 2016!
This one has been around a while.

Looking back at croisiens earlier posts he was interested in Samuel Eve born in Bath in 1727.

Looking at SAMUELS 31 Dec 1727 Baptism his Father was JOHN Eve, noted as a stranger (FreeREG)
Other Children with Father John were;
DENIS Eve 1724, Father John a stranger
ELIZABETH Eve, 3 June 1729
ABRAHAM WRIGHT Eve, 3 Dec 1733
Trish :)

Eve Surname Pages...may have some answers?
http://www.evetree.co.uk/ock1.html

Let's hope so! Abraham is a Wright? Too late to investigate further now.

Eve Surname Pages...may have some answers?
Abraham Wright Eve/John Eve, Essex/Bath etc
http://www.evetree.co.uk/ock1.html

The surname Wright seems to come from an earlier generation, so we're looking for a John Eve who married Mary something, around 1722 /3, in Essex or Bath or somewhere in between. The will of John's brother seems to mention all the property that John later mentions in his will. A pity, otherwise there might have been a piece of property that came in a marriage settlement and could be traced. Dennis seems an unusual name particularly for a female - was that Mary's maiden name?
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Scott, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott

OK, so the Essex will is this one
Will of Abraham Wright of Shenfield, Essex
Date 30 July 1745

Thanks again, Pennines, for the kind words, occasionally I manage to stumble across something useful.
I find it hard work these days to even understand some of the queries!

Hopefully croisienne will now be getting somewhere with all this after their long search.
John

Croisienne -- you mentioned before that you had found a Samuel EVA marrying a Mary in Cornwall and asked why he would go to Cornwall.

You don't know that this is your Samuel -- unless the actual filmed record states him to be from a Bath parish -- I have only seen a transcription - and of course that doesn't say.

However the surname 'EVA' seems to be quite common in Cornwall -- so you will need evidence to know that he is yours. Maybe check for a later burial in Cornwall for someone with that name to 'eliminate' that marriage from enquiries.
