Catherine THOMAS died 1854- South Australia

Hi List,

Probably a long shot but the above Catherine Thomas died in 1854 aged 88 years and she is buried at West Terrace Cemetery. (buried with many others).

Catherine's death notice had the following:  'At the home of Mrs. Tanner of Gilles Street".....this death notice was in two newspapers the SA Register of November 1854 and Adelaide Observer of December 1854.

My question is....., is there anyway to find out who Mrs. Tanner was? 

I don't know very much about S.A. resources, so any help would be appreciated to see if this lady was Mrs. Tanner (or I hope was a mistake printed ….. and it should be Mrs. Turner!).

Thank you so much for that piece of information.  I thought she came with her daughter and family (Ann Turner), but the death notice put me off track - saying that she died at 'Mrs Tanner's' in Gilles Street - and not Mrs. Turner's

I still think this Catherine is the mother of Ann Turner/Reed/Reid/Thomas...will keep looking for that connection.
