Frederick Jackson & Eliza Beard

I seem to be at a dead-end now!

Frederick was born abt 1821 (Hatfield Broad Oak, Essex) and married Eliza in 1843. They had 8 children! :o

Anyhow, I'm trying to find Frederick and Eliza's parents. Does anyone have access to Parish records?

I hope someone out there can help me :)

Hello

Getting the marriage certificate from 1843 should get you started with fathers names and occupations.

Hinchliffe - Huddersfield Wiltshire
Burroughs - Arlingham Glos
Pick - Frocester Glos

Free BMD gives the marriage of Frederick Jackson and Eliza Beard in the December quarter of 1843 in Dunmow, Essex. Vol 12 Page 157. From this you can order a marriage certificate from the General Registry Office.

Free BMD is an excellent resource for find what is in the Registry Office from 1837 onwards. Free Reg and Free Cen can also be helpful for a census or a parish register. They are being transcribed by volunteers, Free BMD is pretty well covered, but still getting bits put in, Free Cen and Free Reg are behind. Those volunteer transcribers have and are doing a brilliant job.

As a beginner you may not have Ancestry or Find My Past but you might like to look at Family Search https://www.familysearch.org/search/  It is free to join and has masses of records.

A transcript is available on Ancestry, his father James her father William married 12 Nov 1843 at St Mary the Virgin Hatfield Broad Oak.

He was baptised at North Weald Bassett St Andrew 5 May 1822 parents James and Mary

Many thanks for your help. I think I'm going to have to go the certificate route. GRO are taking quite a while though, which I guess is understandable.

I'm a member of Ancestry, but it won't let me access the records I need. I guess because I've gone for the cheapest option!  ;)

Frederick Jackson - bachelor - father James Jackson (Labourer Deceased)
Marriage    12 Nov 1843
Hatfield Broad Oak
They were both of the parish
