Hi John,I think this is the family I have been researching. Thomas Evans married Sarah Jones and had a daughter Winifred Evans.

Kind regards

Thomas Evans seems to be "missing" in people's trees during 1881. One tree has the family in 1881 at Pwll next to Station Rd, with the married Sarah being a tailor's wife. Thomas's name looks to have been initially partly entered above hers as Head, but then crossed out.

The reason for this may well be because he was probably in the Joint counties lunatic asylum (in Carmarthen)

I knew that Thomas had tried to commit suicide but hadn’t realised he had been put into an Asylum. Thanks for the information.

Kind regards

Sarah Jones from the marriage cert in 1859, was living at Ochrbrynlloi, father Evan Jones a hosier. Evan seems to have died in 1885 - see newspaper report into his sudden death at Ochrbrynlloi, Llanddewi Brefi, after roofing his thatched cottage.  https://newspapers.library.wales/view/3044236/3044241/66/

That’s a shame ,I’m not a member of ancestry so unable to see the photograph of Sarah.
May I ask if you are a relative ?
Winifred married a Nathaniel, these would be my Great Grandparents.
